Tecplot Add-on: FLOW-3D Water Depth Calculation

FLOW3D WaterDepthCalculation is used in conjunction with water depth plot to calculate and export depth-averaged data based on Flow 3D data loaded in Tecplot. The two dimensional outputs for depth-averaged data include: Coordinate X and Y, Bathymetry, Water Depth, Water Level, Averaged Velocity Component U and V, and Velocity Magnitude.

Installation
- Download and extract WaterDepthCalculation.zip.
- Copy the files to the Tecplot directory.
Tecplot 360 2006 R2:
- copy FLOW3D_WaterDepthCalculation.dll to %TEC360HOME%\bin (i.e. C:\Program Files\Tecplot\Tec360\bin).
- copy Help for Flow3D Water Depth Calculation.html and its subdirectory to %TEC360HOME%\help
- copy FLOW3D_WaterDepthCalculation.dll to %TEC_360_2008%\bin (i.e. C:\Program Files\Tecplot\Tec360 2008\bin).
- copy Help for Flow3D Water Depth Calculation.html and its subdirectory to %TEC_360_2008%\help
- Add
the following line to the "tecplot.add" file in the Tecplot home directory:
$!LoadAddon "FLOW3D_WaterDepthCalculation"
- Launch Tecplot;
- In the Tools menu, you will see a new command optoin, FLOW3D Water Depth Calculation:
How to Use
- Load Flow 3D Data first by selection of File → Load Data File (s) → Flow 3D Loader.
- Select Tools → FLOW3D-Water Depth Calculation and a user
interface will show up:
- Click button Read Dataset and Zone(s) information and variable(s) information will appear.
- Select zones that need to be analyzed from the list of Zones
- Click button Start Calculating to calculate and export depth-averaged data.
- Click button Time Averaged to calculate and export time averaged and
depth-averaged data.
